North Texas Dwellings Magazine Interview with Amanda Thomas, Broker/Owner of Send Realty

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: Amanda, you founded Send Realty with a clear vision for improving the real estate industry. What inspired you to take this route?

Amanda Thomas: I started Send Realty because I saw an opportunity to improve the real estate model through a referral system. I realized that many agents have strong networks and great people skills, but they might struggle with self-management or balancing the demands of full-time practice. With the low barrier to entry in real estate, many people get licensed in hopes of earning extra income, but end up treating it like an expensive hobby. They aren't doing enough production to stay sharp or cover the costs of holding a license. That’s where our referral model comes in—it lets agents focus on what they’re good at: networking and connecting clients with the right agents who can close the deal.

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: How does your approach address the concerns outlined in NAR’s most recent Danger Report about agent competency and training?

Amanda: The report highlighted serious threats like agent competency, lack of training, and insufficient supervision. These are real issues, especially when agents try to operate part-time or with minimal experience. With Send Realty, we eliminate those risks for consumers by matching them with seasoned, full-time professionals who are fully immersed in practice. Our referral agents don’t need to stay sharp on transactional skills; they can focus on networking, which they excel at. They become the star quarterbacks, passing clients to top agents who can handle everything from contract negotiations to closing.

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: That’s an interesting perspective. So how does Send Realty differ from other LFRO (Limited Function Referral Only) brokerages?

Amanda: Send Realty goes beyond what typical LFRO brokerages offer. First, we invite our referral agents to train and network with the licensed practitioners at Providence Group Realty, our sister firm. They stay connected and involved, even if they’re not in active production. We also provide automated technology to easily create referral agreements, offer professional marketing templates, and a full-service transaction management platform that handles invoicing and referral fee collection. Plus, our agents can refer to any agent, not just within our brokerage brand. This gives them flexibility to find the absolute best agent for their clients.

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: It sounds like you’re offering a full suite of support tools.

Amanda: Absolutely. We even offer digital payment methods like Zelle for quick and easy commission payouts. Our agents are not tied down with association fees, MLS dues, or desk fees either, making it easier to keep their license active without the financial burden. And, if agents want to return to full-time practice, we help with that transition—either sponsoring them through Providence Group Realty or connecting them with another firm that meets their needs at the time.

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: How do your agents balance their referral role with their full-time careers or personal lives?

Amanda: That’s the beauty of our model. Whether our agents are retired, have a corporate role, or just prefer to focus on family, they can still leverage their real estate license to earn a side income. By focusing on the referral aspect, they maintain their professional network and stay involved in the industry, without the stress of handling day-to-day real estate transactions. And for the consumer, it’s a win too—they get matched with full-time, experienced agents who are fully dedicated to serving their needs.

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: People often ask about your logo—what’s the story behind it?

Amanda: The logo was designed to represent the virtual nature of our brokerage. It resembles a computer mouse to symbolize how much of our work is done digitally. But it also emphasizes the person-to-person aspect of the business, reminding us that real estate is, at its core, a relationship-based industry.

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: That’s a great analogy. What’s the biggest takeaway you’d like agents or clients to have about Send Realty?

Amanda: That we offer flexibility, support, and opportunity. For agents, it’s the chance to play to their strengths and keep earning, no matter their circumstances. For clients, it’s about knowing they’re in the hands of experienced professionals who are fully focused on their needs. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.

North Texas Dwellings Magazine: Thank you, Amanda. It sounds like Send Realty is offering a fresh approach that’s meeting real needs in the industry.

Amanda Thomas: Thank you—it’s exciting to see how this model is making a difference for both agents and clients.
